All Badger Volunteers opportunities are completely virtual for the spring 2021 semester. Please disregard any transportation requirements because all opportunities are virtual and the dashboard has some functions that point to transportation even when we are not utilizing them this semester.
All Badger Volunteers are required to attend an orientation, facilitated by the Badger Volunteers Executive Board, prior to volunteering. The Schools of Hope Orientation will take place on Wednesday, February 3 from 6 to 7:30pm. To attend an orientation, use this Zoom link - https://uwmadison.zoom.us/j/92401813242?pwd=VEFnUFRIcmlwTDRsbkRPYko5ZUkvQT09&from=addon

During the school day tutors work one-on-one with students in the classroom to help them understand their school work and complete assignments. After school, tutors work with students in Homework Clubs and then spend time playing with students in our open recreation program playing games and participating in fun clubs and activities. Tutors will have the opportunity to build connections with students, assist in building their confidence in academics that they struggle with, talk about college and their experience, and make a difference in a pre-teen's life.

To enhance the academic achievement & school engagement of middle school youth through positive relationships, tutoring and academic support in one-on-one and small group environments with a focus on minority and low-income groups.
