No registration is required for the orientations, but you need to attend one during the week of February 1 through 5.
Do you have knowledge of culinary cooking and culture from around the world? Have a passion for civic engagement, advocacy and community service? Perhaps you have a natural curiosity or love of STEAM? Or you have a calling to help our next gen of leaders? We're looking for host teams for our virtual monthly programming, the Badgerland Tinker Space! Each 3-person Host Team will share their time, expertise and general know-how with Girl Scouts, helping them learn and develop skills as they work towards badges, projects and community service. - Volunteers host teams will present live on the Badgerland Zoom one time per week (Mondays) to Girl Scouts (Daisies, K-Gr. 1). - Virtual programs last 45-60 minutes, dependent on the audience and age. - Badgerland Council will also be co-hosting on the Zoom program to assist as needed. - Prep prior to the virtual program will vary. Virtual programs consist of idea-sharing, demos, presentations and activities. - Badgerland Council will assist with developing a plan, choosing activities and finding guest speakers as needed. - Badgerland Council will hold office hours weekly for volunteers to check-in and get support. - Badgerland Council will create a go-to Google site for coordination and file-sharing. This volunteer opportunity is a fun, professional development opportunity for students in terms of presentation prep, virtual public speaking and engaging an audience. But even more awesome is that it provides volunteers a chance to be a "leader behind the leaders" - to be part of the Girl Scouts' journey to continue developing confidence, courage, character and, most importantly, compassion for their communities.
The Girl Scouts is a preeminent leadership development organization for girls. We offer every G.I.R.L. - every go-getter, innovator, risk-taker and leader - a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure and success. Our mission at the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin - Badgerland is to lead the leaders, building people of courage, confidence, character and compassion who make the world a better place.
