Free Lunch volunteer

The Crossing Inc

Volunteers cook, prepare, serve, and clean up after the Food Recovery Network weekly free student lunch. The free lunch serves recovered meals from the dining halls to students for free in an effort to reduce food insecurity on campus. Volunteers have the opportunity to promote student food security while reducing food waste every week--and also enjoy FREE MEALS themselves during their volunteer shift! Tasks and responsibilities will be flexible to ensure adherence to UW-Madison Covid safety guidelines.

The Food Recovery Network aims to reduce food insecurity on campus through providing free meals with recovered dining hall food that would otherwise be thrown out. The Crossing is a progressive student ministry that emphasizes inclusiveness, compassion, and belonging to students from all religious and social backgrounds.
