During the school day, tutors work one-on-one with students in the classroom to help them understand their school work and complete assignments. After school, volunteers can tutor in Homework Clubs as well as assist in engaging students in fun clubs and activities.
Schools of Hope is an effort to reduce the gap in academic achievement between students of color and their white peers in Dane County schools. Working closely with twelve middle schools in Dane County, the Urban League recruits, trains and matches tutors with students to ensure that all students are adequately prepared to successfully complete algebra and other academic subjects when they enter high school.
