The Beacon

Volunteers will be cross-trained to fill one or two of a variety of roles during each shift. Roles include: Showers: Provide supplies and access to guests wishing to use the private shower facilities. Laundry: Wash, dry, lightly fold, and bag laundry for guests. Kitchen: Light meal prep, serving, and kitchen clean-up. Float: Organize and distribute various donation items into corresponding areas, stock shower, laundry, and kitchen volunteer areas with supplies.

The Beacon homeless day resource center is a public – private partnership working to provide community solutions to help men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County.
