Community Engagement Program Volunteer

Programmable lights! Autofocus camera! Virtual action! This year FIRST® LEGO® League (“FLL”, the nationally-recognized student robotics organization) celebrates the “A” in STEAM with MASTERPIECE, an exploration of the technology behind arts, performance, and next-generation entertainment. As STEAM accessibility educators, BadgerBots’ Community Engagement Program is kickstarting FLL robotics teams among our high-need community partners, making culturally-relevant robotics accessible to underrepresented students. Join us in engaging 4th-8th grade students in robotics, engineering, and programming, as well as creativity, strategy, and good sportsmanship, all through friendly, LEGO, competition. Let’s build kids by getting them to build robots! As a volunteer, you would... * Guide 4th-8th graders through our LEGO League curriculum * Prepare students to present their work, Shark Tank style * Celebrate students as their innate abilities blossom * Commit to 3 hours per week for at least one semester (Fall 2023), and preferably for the entire 2023-2024 school year. As an option, you can... * Support your team at robotics competitions throughout the 2023-2024 school year.

The BadgerBots mission is to shape future science and engineering professionals by connecting kids to STEM experiences that spark awareness, drive excitement, and cultivate passion. BadgerBots' Community Engagement Program outfits young engineers with the resources, skills, and leadership qualities to serve the needs of their own communities with purpose and grace.
